Kismat Connection-Geeta Dutt-Meena Kumari
Time: 7.30 – 9.30PM
Venue: Pitaara – The Art Box, Goregaon W
Charges: ₹300

‘Koi door se awaaz de, chale aao’, sang Geeta Dutt for a sloshed Meena Kumari in Sahib, Bibi Aur Ghulam.

Much later, as the actress was struggling to survive in 1972, the story of a similar life-and-death struggle was unfolding for singing sensation Geeta Roy-Dutt. Both these exceptional artistes had taken to the bottle, and while life exited from the body of the actress first, the singer too would breathe her last in a few months. You pause to reflect, and you marvel at how unusually similar their life and cinema run was, with songs, events and people connecting to brace them down together like parallel rail tracks on which ran a heavy train carrying spirits.

Was there a Kismat Connection between the two? Let’s find out together with famous film historian & anchor Manek Premchand and two gifted singers,Sangeeta Vyas and Aditya Phadke.
