GHP: How and when did Go Kruze start? What was the basic concept that it grew on?

Dwayne D’Souza: The GoKruze concept has been around for over 10 years now. My uncle runs a corporate transport company (Aaron Travels) which has been around for over 20 years. His knowledge of the industry led to the idea of a corporate bus pooling service.

GoKruze officially launched in July 2015. The motto behind the concept of corporate bus pooling is To enhance Employee commute experience, while reducing cost to companies and parallel reducing the number of private vehicles on the roads of Mumbai

GHP: How did the funding bit start? Are you self-funded, have an angel investor, etc.?

Dwayne D’Souza: As GoKruze is not positioned like other bus pooling aggregators, and owns its own fleet, We are currently self-funded. However, GoKruze.com is in the process of sourcing funds to expand its operations. We will expand further in Mumbai as well as to other cities like Pune, Hyderabad, etc., soon. We have had various informal conversations with investors.

Once GoKruze has reached 85% of its target in Mumbai; after we have gained 100% targets as planned and once funding from investors is in place we plan to expand to other cities.

Who is the core GoKruze team? 

Dwayne D’Souza: The GoKruze founding team consists of three members…

Aldrin Lewis is the Chief Operations Officer. He is the Director and Founder of Aaron Travels. He built his business from 1 bus and today has a self-owned fleet of over 800+ cabs and buses collectively.

Carasel D’souza is our Chief Technology Officer, with 23 years of experience in the field of IT. He is the recipient of many IT awards like IT Leaders to Watch in the Future (2007), Innovative CIO in India (2008), to name a few.

And there’s me, Dwayne D’souza, Chief Marketing Officer. I have a passion for Sales & Marketing in the start-up environment. I specialise in startup business architecture setup. I was peviously associated with the print media industry of Canada and City Council Development.

GHP: What has been the greatest challenge for you so far?

Dwayne D’Souza: The local mind set of companies when it comes to adopting changes. Every company in their very own right way is concerned about employee safety. But there’s a fear that if a bus is shared with employees of other companies, they may be influenced to leave their organisation.

This truly has been a major setback in getting companies to understand the benefits that their employees are missing out on.

GHP: What are the upcoming offers from Go Kruze in Mumbai?

Dwayne D’Souza: GoKruze, to celebrate its 3 years of operations in Mumbai, is starting 2019 with a bang! We are offering passengers 50% discount on January passes, for those who purchase in the month of December 2018.

GHP: Give us an idea of fares, especially for buses starting from Goregaon.

Dwayne D’Souza: Fares can range from anywhere between ₹50 to ₹100 per trip. We also offer monthly passes for those who want to reserve their seats and book it for the entire month.

Monthly return passes range from ₹2000 to ₹4000.
