This is a one-of-a-kind art tour that is for anyone who has an affinity for India art forms. The vibrancy of Rajasthani Art is not anything short of legend – be it miniature paintings or Bandhani. Each is testimony to the skills and unique aesthetics of Indian culture. Weekend Art Room, a Mumbai-based art workshops brand is now giving you an opportunity to explore these Rajasthani Art forms with indigenous artists, in their own villages and homes.
About the Rangeela Rajasthan Kala Yatra
This Rajasthani Art tour covers the heritage, beauty, culture and traditions of one of India’s most beautiful states. It creates a deeper, more authentic and profound experience rather than just a ‘drive by’ holiday.
Experience the rawness and organic way of living with the local people – their warmth and hearts, local food from their hearths and learning local art, passed through generations.
These local artists are state level award winners, working in a new distinctive style, understanding the folklore and royal history of Rajasthan.
Part of the proceeds of this art tour will be for NGO OncoHappy for the benefit of cancer patients. Here’s beauty of cause and purpose all the way.
Your Stay during the Rangeel Rajasthan Kala Yatra
India is the most diversified country, in terms of culture, tradition and it is still intact in villages. These villages offers you a very organic way of living with most profound atmosphere of culture, art, nature, food, and more, untouched by modernisation.
“We have designed the art adventures to enrich the creative spirit”, says Sona Choksi of Weekend Art Room.
Over these days you will explore the age-old forms of Rajasthani art: art that captures the beauty in a way that no camera ever could.
“Your days will be spent in a relaxed fun environment with a group of like- minded people”, promises Sona.
The Rangeela Rajasthan Art Tour begins on February 6th, from Udaipur. Base camp is at Molela, a small town near Nathdwara.
The first day begins with age-old Terracotta art with state-level artist, Bhaga Lal in Molela.
You then engage in landscape painting and a photowalk at Nathdwara, and the Terracotta workshop continues. The day ends with folk music, dance and dinner.

Day four takes you to more scenic interiors and the spectacular Kumbhalgarh fort for an art walk and photo tour. The next day becomes great with the experience of a miniature art workshop with a local artist specialising in Rajasthani art forms.
