Summer Workshops at SOL-Waldorf school

I featured the SOL-Waldorf School in January this year, when it hosted the SOL Mela. You can read the post to get an idea about the SOL ethos.

This summer, SOL is hosting some really wholesome workshops for children, from this Thursday onwards. Take a look!

Morning workshops:

  • Sensory activities are almost always a no-fail activity. It opens the door for free play. It lets the kids explore a material. And its just fun!

Experience one such play for children with sand, clay, cornstarch, cloud dough etc. with Bharti Kosambia.

Age group: 3+

Dates: Thursday, 27th April’17 to Wednesday, 10th May’17

(excluding Saturday, Sunday and 1st May’17)

Time: 10 am to 11:30 am

Charges: ₹380 per day, per child (material included)

  • Brazilian cheese bread baking workshop

From the Brazilian grandma’s recipe book, to the oven, to our kids! Bond with your children over Brazilian cheese bread baking workshop. A healthy gluten free, sugar free, flour free, vegetarian mix with oodles of love from the parent to your child.

Age group: 3+ accompanied with one parent

Dates: Saturday, 6th May’17 and Sunday, 7th May’17

Time: 10 am to 11:30 am

Charges: ₹1100 per parent-child duo (material included)

Evening workshops with Satish Desa

About Satish Desa: Copywriter by profession, and storyteller by compulsion. He is loved by children, licked by cats and wagged at by dogs. He is currently working on a series of children’s stories and a novel.

  • Singing and dancing stories.

A two-day interactive story building session that will have the children singing and dancing as they experience the immersive magic of stories.

Age: 3 to 7


Batch 1: 2nd May to 3rd May.

Batch 2: 4th May to 5th May.

Time: 4 pm to 6 pm

Charges: ₹750 per child for the two days.

  • Publish your own pixzine.

Write, edit, illustrate and publish your own story as a graphic zine over four days. Children will start by freeing up their imagination, learning a few tricks of storytelling, before attempting to construct their very own story with themselves as a central character. They will then put images to their words, and finally publish the same as a graphic zine for distribution amongst friends and family.

Age: 8+

Dates: 8th May, 9th May, 10th May & 11th May.

Time: 4 pm to 6 pm

Charges: ₹2300 per child for all days. Materials included.

  • Pen down your imagination

Four day creative writing workshop where young adults can begin their journey in writing or simply hone their writing skills. Each young writer will learn to free their imagination and then capture this rampant imagination in words, on paper. Through various creative writing exercises, at the end of this workshop participants will be able to put down their ideas with clarity and impact. Over five days, with a break day in between for home writing.

Age: 12+

Dates: 22nd May, 23rd May, 24th May & 26th May.

Time: 10 am to 12 noon.

Charges: 3100 per person for all days.

  • The Two Raindrops.

A lively puppet show about the rains. Written and performed by Satish deSa, it follows the story of two raindrops who refuse to leave their cloud, and their journey when they finally decide to leave. The show will end with a short session on puppet making and storytelling tips for parents.

Outdoor workshops

Summer vacations are here and it’s time for some camping craziness at Hideout Farm!

This time, we’re bending our ‘No Parents Allowed’ rule for the first camp during the April 29-May 1 weekend.
Parents are welcome to accompany their kids.

The second camp on May 10-12 is ONLY for kids, as usual.

COST: ₹6,000 per child / adult
